Frank Coppersmith

Frank Coppersmith is the chair of the Austin chapter of the International Game Developers Association for 2015. Austin is a leading hub for game development with 110 local studios and thousands of game developers. Frank has more than 22 years of experience in the technology and video game industries, most recently as President, Capson Technology, a digital health company in Austin Texas. Prior to Capson, Frank served as the studio GM and COO of GameSalad, a leading tool for mobile application and game development where he oversaw operations of the company's Austin studio and in-house game team, as well as led development of the company's tools and platforms. Earlier, Frank served as Vice President, Finance and Administration for Challenge Online Games, a venture-backed web and Facebook gaming company later sold to Zynga. Before Challenge, Frank served as General Counsel (and in other roles) at Toppan Photomasks, a worldwide manufacturer of semiconductor materials. Frank holds a MBA in Finance and Operations Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a law degree from Samford University, and a degree in electrical engineering. Frank was named Austin’s CFO of the Year for 2010 by the Austin Business Journal. Frank also holds a commission as a lieutenant colonel in the US Air Force reserves and has deployed to Iraq, Turkey and Qatar.
